Is the app really free?
Free to download and free to play β€” always. Joining hunts, following Shared Journeys, and recording personal journeys never cost anything. The $8/month Creator subscription unlocks building and publishing hunts and tours.
What devices does it run on?
Currently Android only (version 10 and above). iOS is planned β€” we need an Apple Developer account and Mac build environment, which is on the roadmap.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. GPS evaluation, narration playback, photo display, and journey recording all work fully offline. Internet is only needed for initial download of shared content and cloud feedback sync.
How accurate is the GPS evaluation?
Accuracy depends on your device and environment. Outdoor open-sky GPS is typically accurate to 3-5 meters. You can set the geofence radius per stop β€” wider for large landmarks, tighter for precise locations. Indoors, set a radius of 15m or more.
Can players join a hunt without an account?
Yes β€” completely. Players join with a 6-character code. No email, no password, no account of any kind required. The creator needs a Creator subscription, but everyone who plays is always free.
How do I publish a Shared Journey?
Open a completed journey from My Journeys and tap "Turn into Shared Journey". The app publishes it to the cloud and generates an 8-character share code. Give that code to anyone β€” they open the Shared Journeys screen in the app, tap Download, enter the code, and the tour downloads to their device. It plays fully offline after that.
Is my location data private?
Yes. GPS coordinates are stored locally on your device in a private database. They are never uploaded to a public server or shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Email us at support@questingrl.com and we'll cancel immediately with no questions asked. Stripe subscriptions can also be managed directly from the billing portal once that is live.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
The easiest way is the πŸ’¬ button inside the app β€” it captures your device info and app version automatically and sends it directly to us. You can also email support@questingrl.com or use the form on this page.
